Greetings everyone!
It has been just over a year that I began this blog, and in a short time, it has evolved. It began with tips and stories from other sources, then longer commentary. One of the most enjoyable features that I was able to present to you was stories of real users, people who used the technology that you are using or want to use. Whether it was Kimbark Laundry pioneering with Facebook, Rollins Palumbo Creative performing marketing using LinkedIn, or Wooded Isle Computer Consultants demonstrating Apple's brand new iPad that you can’t wait to get, many of you appreciated the insight gained from others whom you could you relate to, making your own adoption easier.
In the beginning, I was able to publish twice a month with some regularity. However, when I began to feature businesses and interview others using technology, the process required more time and resources. The Social Media series was a success, but it became more difficult to meet scheduled deadlines, and they slipped. Managing the process is still very much an issue.
In spite of this, presenting the stories of other businesses using technology made it fun and worth it! I enjoyed interviewing and writing about human experiences with technology, and you have responded tremendously as an audience. I have used much of the technology featured in the articles - and as you were learning, I was too. Many of my interviewees complimented me on the finished articles. In turn, I complimented them on their depth of knowledge, experience, and willingness to share what they knew, no matter what level of comfort they felt with the technology at the time.
I usually take a break in August. I believe that I have found my sweet spot in what I envision this blog on being, that is interviews about how people use technology in advertising and marketing their businesses and organizations. We are all trying to speak to an audience, to persuade them to make choices that they might not otherwise know about but for some way we connected with them. We often use technology to make these connections. This is of interest to all of you.
Some of you have very interesting stories to tell, and I would love to talk to you about them. Please contact me and let me know yours - many of your challenges are common to the rest of us, and often, it is you that may have a solution that the rest of us didn't think about. See you next month.
